Paul Rafferty trained as a press photographer before moving into photojournalism, news page design, sub-editing and reporting, working and living in the Middle East, North America, Europe and Africa.
Following a globe-trotting series of publishing, research, news media launch and development projects Paul settled in West Cork, Ireland, where he lectured in journalism and undertook the restoration of a Georgian country house estate, launching an award winning restaurant, cafe and tourism business.
Ongoing work includes travel and food feature writing, investigative journalism, cold case research, news verification and open source intelligence.
In 2023 Paul was privileged to join workshops in advanced digital investigation techniques with
Bellingcat, the award winning independent investigative collective of researchers, investigators and journalists brought together by a passion for open source research.
Paul is a member of the Media Team at
Locate International, a charity dedicated to 'Finding the Missing and Naming the Unidentified'
